The following American Heart Association training courses are offered
by the Putnam Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps:
First Aid
The American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid course provides the layperson to first responders with training in basic first aid procedures. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
Heart Saver CPR
The American Heart Association Heart Saver CPR course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.
Heartsaver CPR and First Aid Combo Class
The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course combines the curriculum of the Heartsaver First Aid course with CPR AED training.
BLS Healthcare Provider CPR
The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.
Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Protection
The Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is a classroom course that teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials. This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training.
